I Remeber When...

What are your ONYX memories? I know it may seem a little pretentious to ask, since we were a glorified garage band, but hey, this could be fun. Email us here and we will post your responses!

" We once opened for a ventriloquist at Enon Beach for a Youth retreat. Kind of surreal. And totally hilarious. "
Daniel Storer

"AHHHH! The ONYX concert! The ONYX concert!"
The Owens kids, as they ran screaming with their hands over their ears after sitting in on one of our practices. (ed. note- Apparently for years after that incident whenever they heard a big, loud, scary noise they would scream this.......cool)

"I remember our first gig together and we named our “Homemade” light board Smokie the light board. I not sure why it never killed anyone and also unsure how the fire marshal was never called for that show too. It was so crowded. I made the lights out of empty industrial soup cans and mounted regular light fixtures in them and used those colored halogen spot light bulbs and man did they get hot. We used tables for the stage and covered it with sheets and then had sheets for back drops ( hot lights right by them.) We could have been like that Great White concert in NY. The show went great and we all had a blast."
Darryl Storer

Ain't No School Like Old School!

This is a little walk down memory lane. It has been a long time since ONYX played a show or recorded a song, but ONYX still lives on! Okay, that all sounds a bit dramatic and corny, but click around and check things out. There are some old pictures (yes...some large 80's hair) of all the guys that had a part in spreading God's word with some very, very loud music. The music of ONYX.

The Music

If memory serves (insert old man joke here), this year marks the 20th anniversary of our last recording. So I thought it would be appropriate (and funny) to post the music that God created through us. So....here's the story
I had the reel to reels cut to a CD about 10 years ago. There was no remix, no improvements, just the original songs digitized. And other than a few copies handed out here and there, the songs remained hidden gems. We have never subjected the internet and the world at large to the aural assault that was ONYX.
That has changed as of now.
For your listening pleasure , the original recordings are now available...for free!
You can listen to the ONYX radio stream here or download them here.
Please, enjoy!
